Green clothing – A responsible choice
Choosing green clothing is a great thing to do. Millions of clothing pieces are made in a way that harms the environment on a daily basis. This of course has an impact on nature. If you choose green clothing, you will be one person of a growing total number of people that decided to buy and wear green clothing instead of the clothes that are being made with a process that harms the nature.
Here are some tips that should come in handy when you are considering going green and buying green clothing.
• Find out more about a brand and the specific product you intend to purchase.
• Bamboo and hemp are two great renewable materials because it grows so fast.
• Materials that are made without the use of herbicides, pesticides and artificial fertilizers, like organic cotton in example, release fewer chemicals in the air during process and while wearing them.
• The dyes used on green clothing are organic dyes. Natural products are used to make these dies. Their chemical cousins release a lot of harmful toxins when being made. You can also experiment with these at home with coffee, vegetables, and other products as resources for your dyes.
• You can’t go green from one day on the other. Replacing your entire wardrobe is a nice thing to do but since you already have these clothes you might as well wear them off. When you thinking about making new purchases however, you should see if you can make responsible choices. Also take good care of your clothes so you do not have to buy new ones all the time. This is a good way to reduce the harmful materials used for clothing as well.
