Helmet Knee

The need for speed. No thigh, knee or butt pads?
Players will try anything for that added advantage. Whether its a major change (steroids) or minor. I am very much against players not wearing knee, thigh, or butt pads. The thigh and butt are less likely, but a helmet to a knee could end a career. Your thoughts on players not wearing pads?
If you get a direct helmet to the knee a 1/2 inch pad of foam isn't going to significantly help that much.
I play college football in jc as a wide receiver and I don't wear knee/hip/tail pads, I do wear thigh pads, during practice and have yet to have an injury that the pads would've prevented from happening. I've seen people destory their knees, tear MCLs/ACLs/PCLs with pads on so wearing them hasn't really convinced me that they're going to prevent a career ending injury.
I choose not to wear those pads, not for the necessity to be lighter but because they're uncomfortable and restricting. Honesty the total weight is only a few pounds and won't make any significant difference on a persons over all speed.

2010 Olympics For The Best Electric Scooters
Some of the parents in my neighborhood have been watching the 2010 Olympics together. It just so happens that several of our kids ride electric scooters together as well. Just recently, I got the idea of having a competition between the kids and the best electric scooters. The following is how I am setting it up.
We actually have 5 kids in our immediate neighborhood who ride electric scooters. We definitely need more competitors, so I am placing an advertisement in our local paper, in the classifieds section.
The event will be held at a local, vacant parking lot on a Saturday morning. Their will be a small entrance fee to cover the cost of the awards for the winners of the events. The top 3 finishers in the 3 events will recieve the following prizes:
1st place- A new "motorcycle" style helmet
2nd place- New knee pads
3rd place- new elbow pads
The competition will have two classes of participants. One class will be reserved for kids that are ages 8 years to 11 years of age. The maximum power for the scooters in that class will be 350 watts.
The second class will be reserved for kids that are ages 12 years to 14 years of age. The maximum power for the scooters in that class will be 750 watts.
Helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads are mandatory. We will have 6 adults supervising the events.
The 2010 Olympics for the best electric scooters will have these 3 events
Narrow Pontoons:
We will set up 10 pontoons in a direct line. The pontoons will be placed 12 feet apart. The competitors will weave through the pontoons, from left to right.
The winner will have the fastest time, AND will have knocked over the fewest pontoons.
Wide Pontoons:
The same as the first event, except the pontoons will be placed 15 feet apart. Winners will be determined in the same fashion as narrow pontoons.
Ramp Jumping For Distance
The younger age group will jump off a 12 inch ramp. The winners will be determined by who jumped the longest elapsed distance. The older kids will jump off a 16 inch ramp.
Hopefully, the 2010 Olympics for the best electric scooters will be a success! Stay tuned for further updates.

Helmet Junior

What do junior navy hospital corpsman do?
Also do corpsman in the field have a big red cross on there arms or helmets? Also do medics in the field carry guns.
Usually they are assigned to one of the following 3 choices: they are sent to field medic service school then go with the marines, they go to a hospital and work on the wards or they go to a "C school" (additional training) to pick up a "NEC" (specific job, eg. x-ray tech, lab tech). Sometimes they get sent straight to a ship, but no too often... hope this helps.

Bmx Parks are Perfect Places to Practice Bicycle Skills
BMX Parks are either made of wood or they come in concrete forms. In most cases, the parks meant for BMX riders are council supplied parks made of metal. The style of riding determines whether the parks are made of wood or concrete. Parks made of wood are apt for technical rides while concrete allows a fast flowing style. Riders who are always in look for gaps and have an aim to fly from the coping generally like the hasty style.
Parks for BMX riders – places to try out skills
In most concrete parks, you are sure to come across several bowls and pools. However, if you prefer you can even merge the two riding styles inside one particular park form. Most concrete parks for BMX riders are built outdoors for their capacity to endure years of several climactic withering and torturing. Building a concrete park is quite an expensive venture for which contributions from different sources are put together to give form to such a concrete open space.
Most commercial BMX squares are made of wood. Some of the reasons for this have been successfully listed below.
1. Wooden parks are more easy to construct
2. Materials required for the construction are easily available
3. The cost of construction is comparatively less
4. It is safer to fall on wood then on concrete. You will not be severely injured
5. If the park is particularly meant for BMX riders, it should have steel coping, which cannot be easily damaged
Quarter pipes, spines, flat banks, wall rides, mini ramps and hips are some of the common obstacles included in the wooden parks meant for BMX riders. Irrespective of the fact that whether you are an inexperienced beginner or an experienced old hand, the parks present opportunities for riders of every level.
There are some parks specifically meant for novice and children while the others allow challenging jumps for more talented and in-art riders. These specific riding domains have provisions for more than forty jumps along with several banked turns.
Throughout the year, BMX riders are allowed to practice their skills on the park during the early hours of the day. Riders when practicing within the park should wear helmets and when juniors practice, they should be kept under the strict supervision of the seniors.
A park for the BMX riders can be both privately or public owned. If you enter a private BMX or state park, you have to pay admission fees. On the other hand, parks with no private ownership will charge you nothing. You will get to see private BMX or state parks within buildings with tall ceilings, roller rinks or warehouses.
If you are an expert BMX rider, you make sure to practice your techniques inside a state park as a means to sharpen your skills.

Adult Helmet

Help with Riddell football helmet?
I bought a Riddell Pro Edge Adult helmet recently and it has the two chinstrap buttons towards the ear piece but I'm needing a button for a high point chinstrap....and advice on how or where to go about getting that done?
You might try to contact the equipment manager for a college team in your area to find out what he would do. A high school athletic director might know as well.
Good luck.

Finding the Best Adult Acne Home Treatment
For the adult who is plagued with acne finding a home treatment that works can be worth its weight in gold. For most people acne is something they leave behind after their teenage years but for many adults it hangs around for years and years and years. It becomes a never ending battle that starts every morning when they look in the mirror.
Everyone has to deal with acne at some point in their life. In fact 80 percent of people in the 11 to 30 year age bracket will be affected by acne at some point in their life. After 30 most people see their acne begin to disappear but many people still suffer its less than appealing affects well into their 40s and 50s.
When it comes to treating acne sometimes the best thing that you can do is controlling some of the things that are more likely to cause outbreaks in the first place. That doesn't meant that this will always work but prevention is a good starting point when it comes to an acne home treatment.
• Hormones are one of the primary causes of acne outbreaks. This is why teens can have such problems with pimples and blemishes during puberty. It can also affect women during their monthly menstrual cycle or during pregnancy. Many women take birth control pills to help smooth out their hormonal fluctuations and control their outbreaks.
• Tight and restrictive clothing, helmet, hats or anything else that keeps the skin from breathing can cause acne.
• Stress can cause hormone levels to fluctuate leading to outbreaks. Learning how to de-stress can do wonders for the skin.
• Pollution and high humidity can clog pores and create ideal conditions for acne.
• Squeezing and popping pimples can actually make the condition worse. As much fun as popping zits can be it is best to let the body do its thing and clear up the acne naturally. Squeezing them can also lead to scarring which can be hard to get rid of.
• Use oil free cosmetics and skin products. Pick products that are noncomedogenic which means they will not clog pores.
• When cleaning your skin, particularly your face, use a mild cleanser twice a day. Do not scrub your skin, gently apply the cleanser and wash it away with a wash cloth. Scrubbing harshly can worsen the outbreaks and lead to scarring. Do not us an astringent except on very oily spots as well.
• Avoid too much sun exposure. A tan does not make pimples go away, it just merely hides them. The long term risks of sun exposure outweigh any benefit it may have for an acne condition.
• Be careful when shaving. Use a sharp razor and warm to hot water to soften your beard. Nicking pimples can make the condition worse.
• Eat a healthy diet. This is more for the fact that a healthy diet gives your body the nutrients it needs to function at its optimum level. There is little evidence that eating chocolate or fatty foods contributes to outbreaks of acne, but a healthy diet makes a healthy body.
The idea behind an adult acne home treatment is about taking care of your skin. By following these guidelines and using common sense in your skin care there is a good chance that most of your acne problem will disappear in a relatively short amount of time.

Express Part of your Personality by Means of a Motorcycle Helmet
The best way to find quality motorcycle helmets that will save your life and, at the same time, express your personality, is to go check our online motorcycle helmet store that offers hand-painted and hand-airbrushed protective gear. A motorcycle helmet is a type of protective headgear used by motorcycle riders. It protects their head and brain in case of an impact. Although they are proven to have saved many lives, riders do not always wear helmets because they are heavy, hot, and itchy.
Manufacturers of helmets try to overcome these disadvantages by adding conveniences such as face shields, ear protection, ventilation and intercom. Many countries have laws that force bike riders to wear always motorcycle helmets, but in many states in America, helmet use is not mandatory. Regardless of the laws, facts prove without a doubt that motorcycle helmets do save lives by protecting riders from serious head trauma.
There are four basic types of motorcycle helmets that all need to be secured tightly with a chinstrap for maximum protection. Full-face motorcycle helmets offer the highest level of protection, because they cover the entire head, the base of the skull and the chin. Tests have proven this as the most protective headgear available, but it also has some disadvantages because it is less comfortable. The full-face motorbike helmet has a visor across the eyes and nose that one can remove. Some helmets have a chin bar that pivots upwards, so that bikers can eat or drink without removing the helmet.
Another type of motorcycle helmet is the off-road helmet generally used for motocross events. It offers extra protection and a visor that keeps the sun out of the rider’s eyes during jumps. Open-face helmets cover the back of the skull, but offer no protection to the chin and face, which can result in serious injury in case of an accident, as well as injury and discomfort due to bugs, dust and wind.
There is also an added risk that they will come off or shift in case of an accident. Other types of motorcycle helmets often enter the category of “novelty helmets”, because they are not certified and offer little protection in case of a crash.
Except for this technical information, you should take into consideration another important thing when you buy a helmet: decoration. A motorcycle helmet will be with you for many years and will be part of your image. Therefore, it is very important that you like everything about it, how it fits, how comfortable it is and how it looks.
Several websites sell motorcycle helmets that are hand painted and hand airbrushed. You can get certified DOT helmets, novelty helmets and Snell helmets. You can find a variety of colors and designs as new helmets appear every day. You can chose from religious decorated helmets, women motorcycle helmets, headgear for kids and helmets for bad boys. Hundreds of models exist and you can always add other decorations. You can add spikes and metal skull decorations, Mohawks and neoprene facemasks with funky designs.
Your safety comes first so you should buy a motorcycle helmet today that you feel comfortable with and decorated in your style, which you can find with our special helmets online store.

Helmet Child

What is the title of an educational children's book about a kid who wears a helmet that lets him time travel?
I think its from the mid 80s to early 90s. I know there is one part about ancient egypt.
Ken's Great Adventure by Klaus Merz
The enticing jacket is an attention grabber. Using a scratchboard technique, Binder has created a dynamic ground-level-view of a boy, Ken, kicking off on his scooter. The helmet he wears is important because on it Ken has painted the world, a map to guide him as he glides on "his silver scooter . . . toward the North Pole and . . . all the way around." On his travels, he zooms through forests, villages, suburbs, and cities, finally returning home long after dark

Safety Tips For Your Child Before and During a Football Game
Football has definitely captured the hearts of millions of Americans. Perhaps this is why it is the most popular sport of the nation. In recent years, there have been many equipment innovations making football gear safer for many players. Although this is true, football is still a sport where injuries can and do happen. Parents such as yourself can help reduce potential injuries by learning some of the simple facts about football gears and on-field plays. Whether you are planning to buy used gears or NFL football helmets for kids, here are a few guidelines every parent should reinforce with their child before they step out onto the field:
• It is important to ensure that the equipment your child is using is up to date and have passed all the proper equipment inspections. These gears should be inspected annually and routine maintenance done accordingly.
• One of vital football equipment probably is the football helmet. It should fit snugly on the head but is still comfortable enough for the player. Recent models are designed to be lighter and stronger.
• Appropriate fit for any sports gear should always be a priority. Therefore, it is vital you pick a shoulder pad that is not too big for your child. Do not choose bigger shoulder pads just for the sake of appearance.
• Companies manufacturing football equipment puts a great deal of time and effort in designing gears for maximum protection. Hence, if the equipment is modified, the protection is compromised. Never modify your child's football gear by painting the helmet to your preferred color. The solvent used might weaken the shell of the helmet compromising its integrity.
• Functionality is very important in football. Other accessories that come with helmets and shoulder pads keep the gear acting as a whole system. Ensure that all of these are functioning properly for the equipment to provide utmost protection.
• Let your child wear all the necessary equipment such as mandatory gears that are meant to protect certain body parts that are more vulnerable to injury.
• Tell your child to keep the chinstrap snug and fully buckled as it is an integral part in keeping his helmet positioned. An unfastened chinstrap can result in a loss of a helmet which can increase the chance of head injury.
• Make sure your child wears a full mouth guard. Facts show a high percentage of concussions as a result of a mouth guard cut too short or no mouth guard at all.
• Remind your child if possible to never hit with the head. Even if you have purchased the best NFL football helmets for kids, this is not an assurance that these gears can completely protect your child from a high-impact hit.
Although you can never really protect your child during a football game, it is a bit comforting that he is equipped with the right gear and proper knowledge to handle possible injuries during the game. In following these tips, you will have less worry and will enjoy watching your child play the game that he loves.
